Palestine Action Saboteurs Damage Two RAF Jets in Base Breach
Two pro-Palestinian activists infiltrated RAF Brize Norton, the United Kingdom’s largest air base, in the early hours of 20 June and damaged two Airbus Voyager KC2/KC3 tanker aircraft, marking one of the most serious security breaches at a British military facility in recent years. Body-camera video released by the campaign group Palestine Action shows the pair riding electric scooters across the runway before spraying red paint from repurposed fire extinguishers into the jets’ engines and striking the airframes with crowbars. Paint was also sprayed on the runway and a Palestinian flag was left at the site. The Ministry of Defence said no personnel were harmed and flight operations were not disrupted, but engineers are still assessing the extent of the mechanical damage. Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the incident as “disgraceful,” while Defence Secretary John Healey ordered an immediate investigation and a wider review of security across the defence estate. Thames Valley Police are treating the break-in as criminal damage; by late Friday no arrests had been announced. Former foreign secretary James Cleverly urged authorities to treat the act as sabotage rather than simple vandalism. Palestine Action said it targeted the Voyagers because flights from Brize Norton to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus allegedly support Israeli military operations in Gaza. Defence analysts dispute that claim, noting that the RAF’s probe-and-drogue refuelling system is incompatible with Israeli aircraft. The episode is the latest in a series of direct actions by the group against U.K. facilities it says are linked to Israel’s campaign in the Palestinian territory.

Trump Administration, NIH Launch $10 Million East Palestine Health Study
Trump Administration, NIH Launch $10 Million East Palestine Health Study
The Trump administration has directed the National Institutes of Health to launch a five-year, $10 million research initiative aimed at assessing the long-term health impacts of the 2023 chemical spill in East Palestine, Ohio. Vice President JD Vance announced the programme alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya, calling it the first large-scale federal effort focused on the community since the derailment. The NIH will fund one to three studies beginning this autumn, examining exposure to vinyl chloride, butyl acrylate, ethylene glycol, benzene residue and related compounds released after the crash. In addition to epidemiological tracking and biological sampling, the project is expected to establish public-health surveillance and connect residents with medical care and ongoing monitoring. A Norfolk Southern freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed on 3 February 2023, prompting a controlled burn that sent toxic plumes over the village of roughly 5,000 people. The incident sparked reports of respiratory and skin ailments and led to a $600 million class-action settlement with residents in 2024 and a separate $22 million payment to the village earlier this year. Local leaders have long pressed for a comprehensive health study, arguing federal attention under the previous administration was insufficient.

On June 18 and 19, 2025, multiple heavy rockets were launched from Iran toward northern occupied Palestine, triggering a series of fires in northern Israel. The Iranian missile strikes caused fires in at least three Israeli settlements, including the Yavne'el settlement and the Golani intersection in the Lower Galilee region. Debris from intercepted Iranian ballistic missiles fell across several areas, including Highway 79, where a vehicle caught fire. Israeli firefighters, supported by six aircraft, were deployed to extinguish the ongoing fires. The attacks resulted in visible heavy smoke and flames in the affected areas despite Israeli censorship efforts. The incidents highlight escalating tensions and the impact of Iranian missile activity on northern Israel and occupied Palestine.

Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of Yemen's Supreme Political Council and leader of Ansar Allah, condemned the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza, describing them as continuous criminal aggression involving starvation and humiliation of the population. He affirmed that Yemen's support operations for Gaza will persist regardless of the sacrifices until the Israeli aggression ceases and the blockade on Gaza is lifted. Al-Mashat also sent a message of solidarity to the people of Gaza, pledging Yemen's unwavering support. Meanwhile, Egypt's ambassador to the United Nations, Kamel Galal, called for the recognition of an independent Palestinian state and warned that continued harsh living conditions could drive Palestinians toward extremism. The Egyptian UN representative accused Israel of committing war crimes in Gaza and emphasized the necessity of supporting Palestinian rights to statehood, stating that neutrality or silence equates to complicity and betrayal. Additionally, Egypt urged the United States to overturn its veto on Gaza-related resolutions and to facilitate the delivery of essential humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.

AK Parti Leaders Denounce CHP’s Özel for Questioning Erdoğan’s Palestine Policy
Senior figures in Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) sharply rebuked main-opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel on 17 June after he questioned President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause. AK Parti spokesperson Ömer Çelik called Özel’s remarks “complete political senselessness,” claiming the CHP chief was “serving the war lobby.” Deputy chairmen Mehmet Yalçın and Efkan Ala echoed the criticism, accusing the opposition of lacking geopolitical foresight and a national-interest perspective. Separately, the government’s Disinformation Combat Center said Özel’s comments targeting the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office were part of a continuing effort to delegitimize judicial investigations and “did not reflect the facts.”

Police Hunt Masked Vandals After ‘Free Palestine’ Brick Shatters Brookline Kosher Store Window
Police in Brookline, Massachusetts, are searching for masked individuals who hurled a brick painted with the words “Free Palestine” through the front window of The Butcherie, the Boston area’s only kosher grocery store, at about 1:15 a.m. on 15 June. Store owner Gil Zilberberg said the attack left glass scattered across the shop floor but caused no injuries. “This is an attack on the Jewish people of Boston. Nobody should be fearful of coming to get kosher food,” he told local media after reviewing security footage that captured the incident. Investigators have released images from the surveillance video and are asking the public for help identifying the suspects. Authorities have not disclosed whether the vandalism is being treated as a hate crime, but community groups and local officials condemned the act as antisemitic and called for increased protection of Jewish institutions.

Yemeni Houthis Launch Two Ballistic Missiles Including Palestine-2 on Israel's Ben Gurion Airport, Target Haifa Harbor, Disrupt Flights
Yemeni Houthis Launch Two Ballistic Missiles Including Palestine-2 on Israel's Ben Gurion Airport, Target Haifa Harbor, Disrupt Flights
Yemen's Houthi rebel group, Ansar Allah, launched a missile attack targeting Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. The operation involved two ballistic missiles, identified as a hypersonic Palestine-2 missile and a Zulfiqar missile, with one reportedly hitting the airport directly. The attack led to the suspension of air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport, disrupting flights arriving from Russia, Italy, and Montenegro. Israeli authorities reported shrapnel damage but no confirmed direct impact. The Houthis warned all companies to immediately halt flights to and from Ben Gurion Airport and declared the Haifa harbor a legitimate target, urging shipping companies to cease operations there. This attack was stated as retaliation for Israeli bombings on Yemen's Sanaa airport and Hodeida harbor. The Yemeni Armed Forces emphasized that the missile strike achieved its objectives by forcing many Israelis to seek shelter and halting airport operations. The Israeli air defense system reportedly failed to intercept the missiles. The Houthis' military spokesperson issued further warnings to Israel, signaling ongoing hostilities.

Worldwide Pro-Palestinian Protests Sweep Mexico, Brazil, Tokyo and European Cities
Worldwide Pro-Palestinian Protests Sweep Mexico, Brazil, Tokyo and European Cities
Thousands of demonstrators marched through central Mexico City late on 15 and 16 June, moving from the Ángel de la Independencia to the Zócalo and shutting down traffic on Paseo de la Reforma. Participants demanded an immediate cease-fire in Gaza and urged President Claudia Sheinbaum to take stronger action against Israel’s military campaign, with some groups calling for Mexico to sever diplomatic ties with Jerusalem. The Mexican rally formed part of an international day of action that saw coordinated pro-Palestinian protests in several major cities. In Brazil, activists gathered beneath Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue and filled streets in São Paulo, denouncing what they termed Israeli war crimes. Similar marches drew hundreds in Tokyo, while sizable crowds also turned out in Brussels and Bremen. Organizers across the various demonstrations accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza and urged foreign governments to increase pressure for an immediate cease-fire. The gatherings remained largely peaceful but highlighted growing global frustration with the continuing conflict and, in Latin America, with U.S. immigration raids that protesters said compound humanitarian injustices.

Macron Says France Set to Recognize Demilitarized Palestinian State, Urges Gaza Ceasefire
Macron Says France Set to Recognize Demilitarized Palestinian State, Urges Gaza Ceasefire
French President Emmanuel Macron said on 13 June that France is "fully determined" to recognize the State of Palestine, describing the move as a sovereign decision that will proceed despite continuing violence in the Gaza Strip. Speaking at the Élysée Palace, Macron outlined his vision for a "demilitarized" Palestinian state that formally acknowledges Israel’s existence and security. He added that the nascent state should be backed by an international stabilization mission to support regional integration and long-term security. Macron argued that agreeing to a ceasefire in Gaza is "more than ever" in Israel’s strategic interest. He called for a long-term truce, the release of hostages and the establishment of a civilian administration in Gaza as prerequisites for lasting peace.

Over 20 House Democrats Introduce Block the Bombs Act to Restrict U.S. Military Aid to Israel Amid Free Palestine Resolution Vote
Over 20 House Democrats Introduce Block the Bombs Act to Restrict U.S. Military Aid to Israel Amid Free Palestine Resolution Vote
A group of more than 20 progressive Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives, including Reps. Delia Ramirez, Sara Jacobs, Pramila Jayapal, and Mark Pocan, introduced the Block the Bombs Act aimed at halting the transfer of certain offensive weapons from the U.S. to Israel. The legislation demands Israel's compliance with U.S. and international law and seeks to impose oversight on military aid, citing civilian casualties and humanitarian law violations in Gaza. The act is part of a broader push by progressive lawmakers to impose unprecedented restrictions on U.S. aid to Israel, including requiring specific congressional approval for each weapons transfer. Meanwhile, the House is preparing to vote on a separate resolution that would classify the slogan "Free Palestine" as antisemitic, a move that has sparked concern among free speech advocates and Palestinian rights groups. Senator Bernie Sanders has also called for an end to all U.S. military aid to Israel, condemning the ongoing conflict as a violation of international law and human rights. Only one Republican, Rep. Thomas Massie, has publicly supported stopping U.S. weapons transfers to Israel to prevent further violence.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar to Host October 2025 Asian World Cup Playoffs; Palestine Eliminated by Oman Penalty
Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been confirmed as hosts for the Asian qualifiers playoffs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled from October 8 to 14, 2025. This decision follows Saudi Arabia's recent hosting of the knockout stages of the Asian Champions League. To mitigate home advantage concerns, participating nations have proposed that Saudi Arabia's team play their matches in Qatar, and Qatar's team play in Saudi Arabia. Five Arab teams—Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iraq, and Oman—have advanced to the Asian playoff round. Palestine's bid to reach the 2026 World Cup ended after a stoppage-time penalty by Oman resulted in a 1-1 draw, allowing Oman to progress to the intercontinental playoffs while eliminating Palestine from contention.
